I can't believe it's been a month since I blogged. Very slack! But I've been on a major cleaning and nesting frenzy, partly stimulated by the arrival of my in-laws to stay (they left yesterday after one week) and partly because there are things I feel as though if I don't get done now, they won't be done for ten years!
So I've got someone lined up to put in a fence and have bought crockery, bins, some summer clothes for my daughter, birthday presents for friends and cleared out our study to make way for the in-laws. Doesn't sound like much does it? But there is much to do...
sand pit/play area for the kids outside
new outdoor setting for upstairs
fix my dresser (mirror)
new side board for my husband
new dining table
new lounge suite
acquire nursing pillow
new wrap/sling for bub 2#
amby baby hammock
clear out underneath house to make way for play area
air conditioning unit for second bedroom
cryosite - organise for bub 2#
Oh and I'm off to sydney tomorrow for three days on my own. Yay. But that too, has taken a fair bit of organising...
My daughter's 2nd birthday was gorgeous. Just mum and dad, grandparents from both sides of the family, and one of her special little buddies. We all went to one of our favourite local parks for a sausage sizzle and a chocolate cake that my husband baked and his mum decorated with pink azalias all around the edge. Two pink candles. Very simple. But absolutely gorgeous. We tied balloons to the picnic table and tree. And all sang Happy Birthday. Lots of pressies including a Mega Sketcher from mum and dad and a pretty pink hat with a flower on it which my daughter has barely taken off since she got it. For all my pregnant friends with little ones about to turn two, I have bought the fabulous book, Za Za's Baby Brother.
