Yay - remarkable. My HbA1C was 5.7! Phew. So I've had a 6.3 and two 5.7's so far this pregnancy.
Feels like heaps of highs and lows to me, but I remember last pregnancy that I had a distorted view of my control, so perhaps this is what is happening now too.
The other interesting thing he said was that he, too, would not have paid any attention to the blood screening test in the first trimester. He said that kidney disease led to distorted readings. Others had said diabetes could. I had a sneaking suspicion that the fact that I was on four times the dose of thyroxine I'd been on last pregnancy might have had something to do with it. Of course, my own theory is unbacked by any scientific evidence, so you should take it with a grain of salt!Posted by patton at August 18, 2005 07:42 AM
